NIMM PLATZ Have you ever sunbathed downtown? Have you ever moved your yoga class downtown? Probably not. Due to its consumer focus, Hamburg's city center is a very homogenously used place, which is in contradiction to the general scarcity of space in big cities. In this project we deal with the use of public, inner-city space. Why is life moved to urban outskirts, while places like the inner city could be used in a variety of ways? "Nimm Platz" is an intervention in which we install square meters in the form of textile seating in places downtown. People walking by are invited to take a seat on them or take them with them. With our portable square meters, we want to make open spaces in the city center visible and reclaim them for society. Our goal is for these seating blankets to find a place in everyday life.
